5/4 days Boomu community experience.

Day 1 Travel from Kampala to Masindi and proceed to Boomu women’s campsite for an overnight stay in a traditional Banda at the edge of Budongo Forest. On arrival relax at the camp before dinner and overnight. Today you have an option of passing by Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to do rhino tracking this afternoon before you head to Boomu campsite. Accommodation at Boomu women campsite

Day 2 Today, you will spend the day reluctantly walking the community. Optional activities include the village walk, cooking tour or reluctantly walking around the community to learn the local way of life. Accommodation at Boomu campsite

Day 3 After an early breakfast, head to Kaniyo pabidi and walk with a chimp guide through the forest looking for the chimpanzees among other primates and forest wild life. After exploring the forest, you will return to Boomu womens campsite for dinner and overnight

Day 4 After an early morning breakfast, you will proceed to the park, the starting point for a game drive. Do all park activities today. You will start with the game drive, go to the top of the falls and then a boat cruise on the Nile. After the day activities head back to the Boomu women’s campsite for Dinner and overnight

Day 5 After an early morning breakfast, you will proceed back to Kampala or to the next destination of your trip

Boomu Cooking tour: Participating in cooking a local dish, from harvesting to serving the meal. Take a straw basket and the local tools to learn from the local farmer, the tricks of identifying ripe crops and skillfully preparing the banana leaves for steaming your meal. You will also learn how to peel with a local knife. And the end, relax as you wait to be served the tasty meal of your own hands. The crops on the farm include cassava, matoke, sweet potatoes and vegetables.
