4 days Busoga Kingdom Cultural Tour

Day 1: Transfer to Jinja and tour the source of the Nile – Depart  Kampala and drive to Jinja in the Eastern part of Uganda with a stopover in Mabira Eco Forest and Ssezibwa Falls. Have lunch in Jinja and Check-in at one of the hotels in Jinja where you will be privileged to enjoy the sightly views and serene environment of Jinja. Proceed  to the source of the Nile where you will have a cultural adventure backed with visual aids. If you have ever read about a man who found the source of the Nile known as John Speke, then this is the right encounter. The tour at the site will enable you to visit the Mahatma Gandhi Monument, have a boat ride to the spot where River Nile begins its trek to Egypt, Photography and shopping of Art and Crafts.Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Cultural tour of Busoga’s Palace in Bugembe – After breakfast at 8.00am drive to Bugembe where Busoga’s Palace is found. Spend half the day touring this cultural Palace full of wonders which demonstrate how our African Ancestors came into existence. Have Lunch before proceeding to Kakira Sugar Factory and its Town. Return to the hotel for Entertainment, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Kagulu Hill and Budhumbula Shrine/ Palace – After breakfast drive to Budhumbula Shrine Located 2 km from Kamuli town along the Kamuli-Jinja main road, the site comprises a shrine and the residence of the former Kyabazinga of Busoga, Sir William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Nadiope, who died in 1976. The shrine, covered by beautiful marbles consist of graves of other various members of the royal family, such his father and mother, Yosia Nadiope and Nansikombi respectively. Currently it’s also home to Prince William Nadiope 1V. Have a Lunch break before proceeding to Kagulu Hill the first settlement area of our fore fathers led by Prince Mukama from Bunyoro. Although the cultural value of Kagulu has just improved, Kagulu extends to cover a wide area, the remaining and visible landmark. The hill sits in between two roads that divide at the foothill leading to IGWAYA and IYINGO. The hill has breathtaking scenery that gives a clear view of almost the entire Busoga. Kagulu hill is unique in the attractions it offers. It is the only hill in Uganda that has been adapted for tourist climbing with constructed steps to make it easy for visitors to access the top.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala- Afterbreakfast at 8.00am, check-out from the Hotel and drive back to Kampala with a stopover in Bujagali for a 1 hour guidedQuad Bike Safari along the banks of the mighty River Nile while enjoying the sounds and sights of the River Nile flowing northwards to Egypt. Have Lunch and proceed to Kampala where you will be dropped at your Hotel.
