Day 1 Travel from Kampala to Buhoma via Kihihi – Butogota.  You will stay in one of the community accommodations overlooking Bwindi forest. On arrival relax at the camp. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2. After breakfast, briefing by the ranger guides. Later with picnic lunch, start a thirty minutes to eight hours trek to find the mountain gorillas. The tracking starts at the area where the gorillas ware the previous day. After a full hour with the gorillas, from the time you met them, return to the camp and spend a night. Bed and overnight.

Day 3 Today, you will be exploring the community attractions. Options include village walks, birding tours, and traditional dances. After one activity relax at the camp.

Day 4 After an early morning breakfast, you will proceed back to Kampala or the next destination of your trip

Does’ homestead experience: Between Queen Elizabeth national park and Bwindi, on your way to or from Buhoma, visit to Deo’s homestead gives you chance to experience how locals undertake their daily activities. You will be taken on a tour as you participate in some of the eco-solution undertaken when the wildlife invade his home and crops. The Elephant trench, burning chili and the elephant dung, making collective noise or other tricks of scaring the baboon and other wildlife are some of the tricks of repelling wildlife. Learn how to maintain the Elephant trench, appreciate the medicinal herbs, meet the family and learn how they are able to live sustainably yet make a happy living in a welcoming and environmentally friendly household.

The taste of Uganda experience: Visit a local homestay on your way to or from Bwindi, to see how a local Ugandan dish is prepared with millet.  You will be preparing millet porridge and bread locally called “Oburo”, the staple food of this region. The local mother and farmer will show you how she provides to her family using millet among the local Bakiga tribe. You will listen to the story from sawing millet through harvesting then Participate in winnowing and grinding with your hands on a stone like the locals do every day. Afterwards, you will share the meal where millet is accompanied with other local fresh food such as g-nutes, bananas served on the traditional millet basket.
