Day 1 Entebbe – Kibale: Morning pick up from Entebbe Airport or Kampala hotel. Start the tour with a 5 – 6 hour drive to Kibale National Park through Mubende fort portal road. Lunch in fort portal then then continue to Kibale national park. On arrival, you will you have an option of going for the Bigodi swamp experience in the community just outside the park. After the walk, return for dinner and overnight at one of the community accommodations.

Day 2 Kibale Forest exploration: After breakfast, head for Kibale forest for a half day walk in search of primates. During the walk, black and white Columbus monkey, Red tailed monkey, Baboon, Grey cheeked mangabeys or the chimpanzee are a common sight. On return from the chimp tracking, relax at your accommodation while you take your lunch if you didn’t do the swamp walk yesterday, this afternoon is the best time for the swamp walk in the community.

Day 3: After an early morning breakfast, you will proceed back to Kampala or the next destination of your trip

Bigodi swamp walk: A paradise of nature with palm tree, Hogan fig, papyrus with lash green varied vegetation primates, birds and insects.  This 8km loop is home to about 200 bird species where you can spot Turaco, crested cranes, horn bills, eagles, flycatchers or one of the 8 primate species found in the forest. Other mammals include Sitatunga, bush bucks and Otters. It is a comfortable 2-3 hour walk that can be taken any time of the day. During the walk, the local guise will give you an insight of the relationship between nature and the local culture as you look for; black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, velvet monkeys, red tailed monkeys, and red colobus monkeys among other mammals.

Tinkas traditional lunch: Taste a fresh traditionally prepared organic meal served under a grass thatched hut where you will be joined by the family member(s). Sitting on floor mats and or African stools, a buffet is served with a variety of dishes for every visitor to find enough choices. The host explains how each crop is grown, harvested and prepared. By the end of the interpretation, you will be invited to self-service.

Bigodi women crafts shop: Bigodi women handicrafts shop is the ultimate place to find your favorite souvenirs. Here you find handicrafts locally sourced natural materials, during your visit to Kibale forest national park. These products include table mats, clay Chimps sculptures, village bicycle, bread basket, wall hangings, palm leaf purse and many more. These products make your trip memorable since thy represent artifacts used by local community in their daily life. Bedsides the money spent on these crafts contributes to the local families as the money collected helps parents to meet the household basic needs such as education, medical care and housing.
