Mgahinga Community Campground (Amajambere Iwacu) is located by the entrance to Mgahinga National Park and is only 12 km from the southwestern town of Kisoro. The campsite is a partnership initiative with a local crafts women group, Turambe and Kigarama women’s groups that has also subscribed to UCOTA for the supply of handicrafts. Some of the women work will be displayed at the campground for sale. The money generated from the crafts is used to support the local women to meet their household basic needs.

At the camp, visitors can enjoy the magnificent views of the famous Virunga Volcanoes and take part in mountain gorilla and monkey trekking. The camp is located at a perfect starting point for hiking the Virunga Volcnoes of Muhavura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo.
