The proprietor of Alb Sourveniers isAlbert Tumusiime, an artist and designer based in Fort Portal who creates shadow boxes and dioramas of unique Ugandan scenes. Using wires, boxes, and recycled materials, Tumusiime’s imagination takes viewers deep into Ugandan village life giving unprecedented attention to the seemingly mundane details of Ugandan life. Expressive shopkeepers’ faces, realistic Matooke, and images of Nile Special highlight these very special vignettes.

Tumusiime also makes life-like mobiles, children’s toys, and adult clothing. His workshop employs local people and trains community members on his style of craft. Visitors can also take part in these workshops.
